Susan Darst
Williams is a writer, education activist, creativity coach, and fun-loving
mother of four daughters married to her high-school sweetheart, Dave Williams.
They live on a horse acreage outside Omaha, Nebraska.
Besides www.RadiantBeams.org, Susan's passion
is her nonprofit corporation and website, www.AfterSchoolTreats.com. It
offers free enrichment opportunities for school-age children, and mini-grants to
provide after-school field trips and creativity workshops for inner-city
children in the Omaha metropolitan area.
Susan also
publishes an educational advice column and database, www.ShowandTellforParents.com,
and a website on Nebraska education issues, www.GoBigEd.com
A graduate
of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, she was a reporter for The Omaha World-Herald and the Midlands Business Journal, has taught
newswriting and reporting on the university level, and is a prize-winning
free-lance writer of everything from books to articles to scripts to greeting
cards.
Susan also
is contributing editor of RFD-TV The
Magazine. It's the bimonthly publication of RFD-TV, "Rural America's Most
Important TV Network," www.rfdtv.com. She
writes several articles for each issue, and a column, "Back Porch."
